Many
people now learn to tattoo by going to a tattoo
academy to get there tattoo training instead of doing an
apprenticeship, the reason for this is because it’s so hard to get an
apprenticeship these days it seems many tattoo artists are just not interested.
This leaves a big hole for people who are aspiring tattoo artists so people
we’re buying a tattoo kit off the internet and just tattooing their friends
with very bad tattoos, and this is where tattoo training come in.

tattoo academy is a place
where you can go and take a course in tattooing where you can learn all the
skills and knowledge so you can tattoo to a high standard and also the correct
way. The tattoo course is usually a 2 week course, you will go through many
subjects with your tutor from getting to know your equipment to making stencils
all the way through to doing your first tattoo. Your tutor is usually someone
with many years experience in tattooing and they will teach you and pass on all
their skills so you can go on and be a successful tattoo artist.
The
great thing about a tattoo academy is
once you have completed the course you will be competent enough to go and get
an apprenticeship in a studio and because you will be tattooing already you have a much better chance of someone
taking you on because of the skills you have already learnt. Many students
actually go on get a job in a studio as a tattoo artist and have very
successful careers.
The
only negative about a tattoo academy is the courses can be a little expensive
anything from £2000-£2500 but for a new career in an industry that pays very
highly it’s small investment that you will make back within a month so not that
bad really. So this is what academies are about being able to teach people to
tattoo and have a successful career as a tattoo artist.
